Where I'm FromA Poem by Rosalyn Mariewe wrote these for english this week... its all about memories and stuff.. enjoy I guess :)Where I’m From I am from ski resorts, from hot coco by the fireplace. I am from cruises (waterslides, adventure, and wonderful food) I am from building fairy houses with my cousins, And from the trampoline in their backyard, jumping as high as we could then laying down and looking at clouds. I’m from biscotti and shepherds pie, from Ann and Peter. I’m from plays we put on for the family, at Christmas and Easter. From “Just a sec!” and the egg cracking game. I’m from sleepovers and dance parties, with cousins who are like sisters. I’m from Goodnight Moon and Where the Wild Things Are, fuzzy warm blankets and fresh baked cookies. From hand knit scarves and afghans, made by my great grandmother and my grandma, and from playing Rummikub on Sunday afternoons. In a drawer next to my bed is my keepsake box, filled with seemingly random items. A stick, and a stone, and old birthday cards, all from my childhood. They represent memories, from when I was young. So I’ll never forget. © 2010 Rosalyn MarieAuthor's Note
