Monsters

Monsters

A Poem by Rosalyn Marie
"

I wrote this at like 2 in the morning last night... I had just finished reading a murder mystery type of book so i was sorta scared to sleep...

"

Monsters

Monsters.

As little girls, we fear them.

We fear our dreams being haunted,

and bad things happening to us when we sleep.

So we shut out closet doors,

and check under our beds,

To try and keep the monsters away.

Monsters.

As grown women, we fear them.

We fear the nightmares they cause,

because of the things they did when we were asleep.

So we lock our windows and doors,

and keep guns by our beds,

To try and keep the monsters away.

Guns by our bed? Ok, Ziva. I like this poem. It' fiction vs reality, child vs adult

I like it. Fiction we fear as children with the reality we fear as adults. Nice rhythm to it. Leaves you feeling uneasy. I wouldn't add another paragraph. It fits together well.
