Last Goodbye

Last Goodbye

A Poem by Rosalyn Marie
"

This popped into my head one day.I think I was sort of inspired by the show Glee, so if you don't watch the show, the guy's wife lied about being pregnant so he wouldn't leave her, but he found out.

"

I sit and remember who you used to be,

A time when we were both happy.

But now all we do is scream and shout,

Using our words but not working it out.

The lies you told I can’t forgive,

They hurt too much to continue to live.

When we first met our love was true,

But now there’s a gap between me and you.

I hear you softly whisper my name,

As I look up your face is tear stained.

You beg for forgiveness, but I have none,

What you did cannot be undone.

So I pack my bags as you softly cry,

This, my dear, is our last goodbye.

Good job. I liked the rhyme scheme. It really helped the poem flow, and gave it a nice back and forth rythm. A nice message, worded simply but depicting a strong story. A nice write, overall : )

A sad touching poem. I know exactly what you're talking about with the "Glee" reference. I really liked it. It describes how a lot of married couples are splitting up these days. The couplets make the poem flow very smotthly.
