In the Eyes of a Paintbrush

In the Eyes of a Paintbrush

A Poem by Rosalyn Marie
"

Another assignment from english last year. We had to pick something we like to do and write from that object's perspective.

"

In the eyes of a Paintbrush

I am a paintbrush.

I bring color to the world in small, gentle strokes.

My home is an artist’s lonesome desk drawer.

I am a paintbrush.

My enemy is water,

He washes away all my hard work.

Paint is my best friend.

Together we create beauty.

I am a paintbrush.

I fear only small children,

For they treat me like a toy.

I love anyone who treats me right,

Because this is what everyone should do.

I am a paintbrush.

The description of the wants and fears is very clear and true. A paintbrush would be an enemy of water, and it would love paint. Very good personification. Well done.

I love the personification. It flows really well. It even made me laugh with the fearing of small children. The hard work part is so true.
