110. in shadows deepA Chapter by Ray Nicholsa poem about death in the style of Edgar Allan Poe.In shadows deep, where whispered echoes dwell, There lies the specter of our mortal fate, A haunting tale that time can never quell, In darkened corners, love and loss await. Beneath the moon, a pallid light does creep, Where dreams of yore in silence slowly fade, The heart, once bold, now buried in its sleep, In sorrow's grasp, the soul is gently laid. Yet in this gloom, a beauty oft concealed, A dance with death, a lover's sweet embrace, For in the void, our fears are thus revealed, And in the dark, we find our truest grace. So let us pen our elegies in night, For death, dear friend, is but a fleeting flight.
