She

She

A Poem by rawrjenn

She wasn’t like the others

She never knew what to say or do

They walked around her like she was just another person

It didn’t matter to them

She was a blank page waiting to be written on

She never knew what to say to that kid

What to do when she couldn’t handle life

She was another shattered piece of glass

Another vase broken

She only did what she thought was best

When they looked at her they saw pain

Nothing more, nothing less

When she walked in the room no one stared

To stare was to dwell on her past

The past that no one knew but was aching to know

But when she looked at them with blank stares

All they saw was darkness

Nothing was there for them to see

If they finally saw they might show pity

He was her downfall, another man in the big world

He told her she wasn’t good enough

That being her was a crime

She was a mockery to her name

So she thought this was true

Everything they said was true

They tossed her heart around like a toy

They squeezed it and tortured it

They didn’t care it was just her

No one would ever love her

She would always be a blank page

A lonely soul

She is she, another person waiting to be set free
