A House

A House

A Poem by rawrjenn

A house covered in brick walls
Secrets waiting to be set free
This is no house where people smile
And time goes by
This house is haunted with despair
A house that is broken
A shield for the people inside

This house is big
So are the people in it
They are big and scared of each other
Some people think they love that house
Their family is the same on the inside
But this house is a lie
Bursting to get fresh air

I want a house where the birds chirp
It’s always sunny
The flowers shine and life is good
But my house with secrets is where everything should be dead
My sanctuary is far away
No one gets this

I want that house on the beach
The sand in my feet as the waves splash upon
This house isn’t filled with secrets or torment
Everyone is loved her

I need this house
An open place I can call my own
Not that safe that held the secrets of a past
This house will not break
It will not bleed
In this new house I will finally be set free
