Our Gift to GaiaA Poem by ravincause
Earth,
I wish for you the pleasure of our presence here. Listen to us in the deep resonance of the saxophone as it ripples morning lake, awakening echoing voices emerging from the mists. Hear us in the sweet longing of the flute and in the pipes of ancient calling, in gentle harp string harmonies and jubilant chanteys, for moor and mountain, desert and ocean, it is your songs we sing. Feel us in the heartbeat rhythm of the drum coaxing sure-foot dancers, feathers flying in the choreography of sacred ceremony. Join us in the tinkling bells that thrum the commons as Morris dancers awaken spring, and meet us where jungle trance-dance leap the flames of fire, for everywhere we gather, our bodies trace your cadence in the movement of joy. Behold us in the inspired sweep of the artist brush bearing witness to your eternal beauty, in the shaping’s of the sculptor’s vision seeking form, within form within you, and in the weavings of costume and design as we adorn ourselves in your image. Know us in the gentle touch of the gardeners hand as life is coaxed to bloom in beauty that is pleasing to your senses. Night scent enhancing the moonlight as brilliant bouquets call the moth to nectar dancing the aromas of your essence, infusing the morning dew awakening day blossoms That waft pleasure’s perfume in an awareness redolent of you. Savour us in the delicate relish of hunger fulfilled as palate pleasures with the tang of summer berry, sweet date and pomegranate, musky morel and hearty root. Spice and herb enhancing harvest’s gathering as chef’s creation of love manifest from cookstove and campfire, wherever your abundance expresses. Earth, through the pleasure of our bodies, warmed by the blush of delight, exalted by passion, let us make love to you in the places held sacrosanct by all our relations. © 2011 ravincause |
