Cracking Onyx

Cracking Onyx

A Poem by Ravenwing
"

Freestylin' a little (with a tiny edit)...It's been a while since I've written.

"
Black shell
Onyx cocoon
Cracking, cracking
With the Light of purity

Eagle's call
Lion's roar
Dove's song
Phoenix burns

My chains, rattling
The wolves, growling
Snakes, hissing
Desires, swarming

Holy fire, scorching
Holy water, healing
And the shell is cracking
My body shaking...

Fear struck, but I keep moving
Fell into the abyss, but I'm climbing
In the desert, but I'm crawling
To the oasis of His glory...

I'll never be full saint
My bones are still dry
But I gotta keep fighting
Even if I'm the last to arrive

I like the way you present passionate and striking images in clear and concisely lyrical language. It was a pleasant read and I enjoyed it quite a bit.
