Blessed Be The PoorA Poem by RavenwingAn old one, but still enjoy it:)Sometimes the poor are famished Sometimes the poor are banished Sometimes the poor cry in pain Sometimes the poor love in vain But even though they seem to stumble And be weak with a grumble There are many things that can be learned By being them around a fire burned Strength and courage can be seen They fight for their lives Feeding only on a bean And taking honey from wild hives Love and compassion surrounds them all Caring for each other As they sit back on the wall All like family, sister and brother Righteousness displays most in the weak As they search for only need Instead for a lust of greed And are honest, blessed are the meek Faith and hope are there They knock, with prayer, at door Never giving up, these poor Who have burdens that they bear Observance and abstract are learned Even though they live in a world turned Some are greater than the rich In intellect and some other things like ball’s pitch Though human nature still resides And some take sinful sides Though some are insane And some are in great pain The poor are still the greatest of all Even though they do not politically stand tall More than us, they learn more life lessons And surpass many transgressions From the God on high in light galore, Blessed are the poor Blessed are the meek Blessed are the weak Blessed be the poor © 2014 Ravenwing |
