ChangedA Story by Raven's FallThe moon, it shines so bright. A giant silver globe in the sky. I feel an urge to howl at it, to sing to it. That's preposterous, I'm human!
Suddenly the quiet of the night was broken by the cracking of bones. I looked around trying to figure out where it was coming from. And then the pain hit. It felt like someone was ripping my skin off, stabbing me and burning me at the same time. I thought for sure that I was going to die. The previously calm and peaceful clearing was filled with cracking of bones and screaming.
A few minutes later, which felt like years to me, the pain subsided. As I lay there panting on the ground, I wondered what's going to happen now. My arm twitched. I couldn't feel it, couldn't feel anything for the matter, I only noticed because the arm was in my line of sight. Soon my whole body was moving, it was transforming. My legs folded together, the stumps from my legs and my hands turned to paws, I could feel my bones knitting together, feeling returned to me and fur grew out all over my body. I was finally able to lift my head up and stand. It felt weird standing on four paws, as far as I could tell I was some kind of canine, maybe a wolf? I could hear a stream nearby, I could hear much better than as a human. Walking towards the stream, I tried getting used to walking on paws, I was also thinking about what this could mean. maybe I was a werewolf? yeah, that's the most likely explanation. I wonder if we get mates? Am I the first one? Why did I turn anyway?
When I reached the stream, I decided that maybe being able to turn into a wolf isn't such a bag idea. as I looked into the stream the idea solidified, I was a silver wolf.
I heard soft footsteps, they sounded familiar, the wolves also looked familiar. Together we ran to another clearing, bigger this time.
As we stood there waiting my memories of humanity started to fade. I raised my head and howled and the silver moon up in the black sky. Soon other joined in on my mournful song.
By the time my song was finished, instead of a human inside a wolf's body there stood a silver wolf with a glint of humanity that soon disappeared.
