let's love againA Poem by linda m. crateBecause hope like love never dies.
leaves left their imprint on the cement
like you etched upon my soul a song i'll never forget even if you're lilting another psalm into existence without me; white knees of the moon skin me with memories of you silver dancing with gold - i'm done courting despair he only holds grudges and bears me ill will maybe i feel too much, but maybe you feel too little i forgave you because i'm so in love with you this can't be the end shine with me be a light in this ever present darkness let's lift indifference and apathy until their skirts are devoured by lions - shimmering stars swam sinuously their sweet song in my eyes when i was encompassed by your romance now no longer bathed in it the light has swiftly departed whence whatever ocean it flowed from; be more than just an ember of bitterness held in my palm ignite the spark of life in me once more alone i can do much, but with you i truly shine we have such a deep connection it need not be shattered by insecurities and fears - let me stop crying rivers into formation and drowning in rain drops searching for your face i love you; you love me, what more do we need? always, always i am to blame fine; make me the bad guy i'm sorry i hurt you, but did you ever consider just how deeply you wounded me? i'm sick of this war can't we just stop shooting arrows at one another? let's love one another a romance better than the first whose wings are stronger than wax so we don't let it be washed away by the current or be singed angrily in the sun. © 2013 linda m. crate |
