never ending loveA Poem by linda m. crateBecause when you love someone it never truly ends.
melodious off shoots
of rain pound against the sanctuary of my heart memories of you strengthening a never ending chord of embittered joy in me a yearning you were still mine i guess your heart wasn't big enough for my love anymore my prayer is one day our romance will return to us never to end remember us not this bitterness we both made mistakes let us not war forever because these fortresses you've built against my heart are tearing her apart in the carnage of dying autumn leaves i remember an autumn kiss of such passion leaves flew with startled wings from their trees september when you first made me yours stole the last petals of my virginity i can forgive the lies and betrayal if you can forgive my harsh words truth is everyone will hurt you my calculations may be off i was never good at math, but i figured you're someone worth suffering for; always i will love you even if you can't love me you added vibrancy and hues to my black and white life wiped away bitter cynicism and all her cobwebs - pull me apart like an autumn breeze memorize all my colors run away with me in wax wings let's burn in an immortal sunset catch dragon flies on our tongues kiss birds with whispers of truth never begot to their ears before, this love of mine will never die you'll hear it in the wind chimes of your heart long after i'm gone. - linda m. crate © 2013 linda m. crate |
