saviour

saviour

A Poem by ...

i search the room for honesty
scan the expanse for truth
and in the corner amongst the lies
he watches me
as if he always knew

the unrest swells and wanes
the false melody of voices
as the sweetness of their deceit
drips from their foul words

his silence is beautiful
and in it i come to hear
all that i had ever wanted spoken
his emerald gaze the whispers
i have reached for
but always been denied

these four walls ebb
the masks fall to the ground
and ugliness fills my lungs
as the strangers fumble to regain
their pretend

only he remains intact
and as the ground spins beneath my feet
i come to realize
that i am standing still
he becomes my achor
the softest murmurings
in a fortress of chaos

i reach him
my honesty, my truth
seeps from every pore
until i am consumed by him
and i feel him fill me
until there is no emptiness left

his soul becomes mine
and my soul surrenders to his affection
i move
and everything is right with the world
