Lightning

Lightning

A Poem by ...

A flash in the dark
Is all we were
A lucidis moment
A modicum that rippled
Exploded through the tenebrosity
In shades of luminescence and tinctures
Both within us and around us
An ephemeral luminescence
That transformed the shadows
Lurking in our fate
For an instant we were vibrant
A brief extant of possibility
And too soon we were sombre
Apart and bereft
All that lingers is the echo
Reverberating through our blood
Until our hearts beat colour and light
