Tempest

Tempest

A Poem by ...

Falling for you
Was like waiting for a storm
I knew what was coming
Yet I did not move
I could see the clouds approaching
As the ground trembled beneath my feet
And still I could Not turn away
Then when the tempest swept me up
I smiled as I was carried away
I reveled in the destruction
As all around me the world collapsed
And everything I knew was in ruins
As I exalted in the chaos
I felt my past distemper
Irrelevant and eradicated
All that was left was who I am
And not who I was
At the cynosure I came to rest
As sudden as the onset
As gradual as the descent
Something I never intended
An eventuality I could Not circumvent
And yet I was here
Where I always knew I would be
The culmination of fate and nature
And I knew that falling
Was like waiting for the storm
