SolitaryA Poem by ...
This quiet house is a stranger
Blindly I wander the silent halls Until I lose myself in the darkness And wirelessly give in to these four walls You are not here And the emptiness aches within me I do not belong without you Wherever you are is where I should be I crawl between my icy sheets And my thoughts cannot be contained They rise up to meet you and bring you home And I can breathe again Too soon slumber ascends I am woken by the sound of the truth Pulled from the comfort of my dreams I am once again devoid of you I drag my feet and stumble through another day Longing for you it feels like forever As I lay down my tired body and surrender to my need for you I tell myself tomorrow will be better © 2017 ... |
