Hansel & Gretel
As we woke up  in the alley we where scared. Why did we stop here?  Where was our house, where was our father? Then we saw someone coming out of the fog, the fog in the dark alley way. The person was a tall man with pale skin and he looked distorted. I guess being pampered all your life you never see anything like this before.     My brother and I  went to a private school, had our own chauffeur. We were pretty popular. I was sort of scared. I looked at my brother who is older than me by four years. He looked at me in a way of everything is going to be okay. I believed in him, so I was not that scared of this unfamiliar place. We had gotten up from the alley and started walking, walking towards the smell of fresh brewed coffee. As we started walking, we saw the big Red Lobster sign  that’s in Time Square. I looked up and saw my brother looking at me. He said,“Are you hungry?”
I  said  “Yes, just a little. But I heard your stomach growling.”
We went into the Red Lobster and waited to get seated. A  young girl  with red hair came to  seat us; she was bright and  full of energy. “How can I help you guys today?”  The girl said with excitement.
My  brother said, “We’ll just  look at  the  menu; please.”
“Okay,” the girl said, handing  us the menus, then bouncing off  to the other side of the restaurant. She came back  around fifteen minutes later.
“You guys ready to order now?!” she asked again this time, not looking at either of us. She only looked at my brother. I had to use the restroom so I asked her,
“Where is the restroom?”
She said, “around the corner to the left.” Not taking her eyes off my brother.
“Okay thanks.” I said, and then slid out the  booth. The bathroom was nice and lavender scented. I came back to the booth where my brother was sitting, “I ordered for you,” He mentioned.
“What did you get me?” I asked in amazement.

“I forgot,” he claimed. Then the waitress had came back with our food . It looked pretty good, but did it taste good ? That was what  I worried  about.
To my surprise it was. We ate our food with no conversation. We left a tip on the table and left a $50.00 bill with the cashier to pay for our food. As we ran out the door, we ran into the guy that we had seen in the alleyway. We looked at him and said “Sorry, man.”
He said “No problem. Just watch where you’re going.”
There was something different about this man. Something very different in deed. He looked much cleaner from the time we saw him earlier. He wore a leather jacket with a cross on the back of it. He was observing us and commented, “You guys looked lost ?”
I looked at him and said “Yea...”
My brother put his hand over my mouth. “What are you doing?” he whispered in my ear. I licked his hand so I could say something.
“I was going to tell him that we were lost !”  I said a little bit louder then a whisper.
“Why would you do that?”  he said
“I do not know. Maybe  he could help us,” I declared.
We turned around and he was right there. He said, “ If you guys are looking for work, I have a job available.”He handed us  his business card  then disappeared in the crowd of New Yorkers. We were walking  in silence. I looked at my brother and said
“Hey, it  might be fun working.” He laughed.
“It is not a laughing matter. We need to get money, so we can have some place to sleep tonight.” I stated.
“Okay, I’ll call him” he said putting his hand in his pocket to see if he had his cell phone.
Which he did.My brother called him; he was nodding his head  and saying stuff. I looked at my brother in confusion, he got off the phone. “We have to go to  628 5th Avenue .”  he said. So we went to the place where we were supposed to meet this guy.  He was there;

he looked nice too. He handed me a  bag with white powder  in it. I looked at him  and said “ What is this ?”
“Don’t ask question” he said,  “ just try it!”
“How ?”  I asked. “ How do I do this? can you show me ?”
“Just put it to your nose and smell it  like your smelling a rose.” he said.
As I did, everything began to get foggy and I was going on a high trip, Seeing purple  butterflies. I asked him “Have you seen my brother?”
“Oh don’t worry about your brother.” he laughed
“your brother is doing  fine he’ll be back.”
    “Okay!”  I  said not caring.
“Come with me so you can lay down.”  he said .
I woke up feeling alone  not knowing where I was.  The  time had flown by. Next thing  I knew it was dark outside. I only knew this because from where I was, it had a window. I got  up, people all around me were sick. I wondered to myself,  am I in a hospital? If so, where were all the doctors and nurses. Then I  saw him: the guy from the alley and the church - looking building . Feeling  scared, I asked him where my brother was. He looked at me and said “Gretel, Gretel, Gretel. I don’t think you will be seeing your brother any time soon.”
I yelled, “How do you know my name? I never told you my name!”
He looked at me with a little grin on his face as if his sinister plan had fallen into effect. I started to cry because I felt like that’s  all I could do. In the back of my mind I thought about where my brother could be and if he would ever return or if would we both be lost to corruption. Then he gave me another bag of the white powder, and this time I knew exactly what to do with it.  As I snorted it, a sharp pain ran through my nose like a knife was being drilled to my brain. I blacked out and woke up in a cold sweat, numb from head to toe. All I heard was  a loud bang echoing on the door. I couldn’t really tell, but. I thought it was my brother’s voice; then everything fell faint.
He said “Wake up Gretel Come on, wake up!” as he picked up my body  to take me out of this  hellhole.

He dumped my body onto the back seat of the car that he had rented, and then drove off. I started to wake up. All I saw were lights flashing by ,then fell back to sleep. Waking in a nice  bed,I yelled for my brother,  “Hansel!”
“Yeah, I’m in here!” he shouted back.
I got  up and followed the sound of his voice. I saw him and I was happy, so happy that I ran toward him and gave him a hug, I started to cry.
“Thank you!” “thank  you, thank you for coming back for me!”  I said.
“ I would come for  you. Your my little sister and I love you,” he said to me.  As we sat on the couch, I  turned on the  television and watched  Cartoon Network . The  end of our lives were happy. From then on I went to high school  and did my work.  I love my brother; he is all I have  now. He is my world and I’m his .
