Wearing Scars

You don't know how it feels
when i get my heart broken
you have no idea
my words still left unspoken

i hid the scars,
the ones that let me bleed
so you wouldn't witness my pain
you could never see

protect me you never did
like you never even cared
i wasn't sure what to do
honestly, terribly, scared

i don't think you'll ever know
just how much i cried
it just kept flowing out
and i just wanted to die

i kept it from you
the one that i love
so you wouldn't lash out
words i had never heard of

now i'll always regret
all the things i did
hurting myself was the ultimate weakness
all those scars i ever hid

remember that i needed
your love and nothing else
but that i never recieved
i went through living hell

my scars are still there
every time i look
you'll never truely know
all the courage that it took

i hid them to save you
from absolute downfall
becausei wouldn't want that
for you to lose it all...
