Quietly She Goes

Quietly She Goes

A Poem by Raven Pegasus

Quietly she goes, taking a tentative step
First one, then the next,
Her new journey has begun.
Looking left, and looking right
She sees the path so clear,
So bright, illuminated by moonlight.

A thrill of excitement goes through her
As she moves silently forward
She knows the beginning moments of peace.
Walking on this path she hasn't a doubt
That with each new step, each new day
She will learn something new and exciting.

Though a little bit of fear clouds her
She will move forward no matter what
Because she is courageous and strong.
Moving forward one step at a time,
A new discovery with each movement
Filling her heart with wonder.

Quietly she goes, tentative steps
Taking the young woman forward
A new love has come...that love of herself!!

First started reading this poem, i thought you were writing about a baby taking the first tentative steps on her own without support. Until i realized that you were talking about yourself in the last stanza. Did this click into me. Loving yourself, is one of the hardest thing that one can ever master. A task that i am still working on myself. Thank you for sharing this poem with us.
