All nighterA Poem by Rat with a PenBe careful when you pull an all nighter.I drop down dead from little sleep, I'm hungry, hangry and a tired heap, My eyes droop down, about to close, Right down on my desk I begin to doze, Kids don’t care as they watch me snooze, Every hour they try to rouse me, but I refuse, Soon the students skedaddle from the school, But you know me I continue to drool, Comfy cosy in a cramped cheap desk, My dreams distort, they’re looking grotesque, I toss and turn as my teacher turns the light, The janitors jaunt home as I sleep the night, I wake right up when lights lash me awake, I checked the clock it was only a five minute break, This is why kids, never pull any old all nighter, Because it will make your brain a whole lot lighter. © 2021 Rat with a Pen |
