An Image of RevelationA Poem by C.L. WilsonI was in a dark mood today so I wrote this up.
I stand in a hall Purely white And all I know are set in frames Like art But more like specimens I look into each frame Polished gold And find what I once knew Like observing But more like revisiting I saw memories, knowledge, Vivid rainbows, And than an empty canvas Like new But more like erased I reached with my hand Pale pink And the canvas burst into flames Like prevention But more like protecting I beat the fire out with my hand Glowing red And the canvass was burnt black Like eradication But more like revelation I stared at the canvass that should be ash Dusty grey And then an image appeared of me Like now But more like before I was holding in my hands a knife Shiny silver And beneath me was someone Like a stranger But more like a friend He was staring at me with those eyes Icy blue And they were filled with something Like fear But more like resistance I ripped the canvas down to find another Crimson red And there was only a faded image Like a smear But more like a body
