Did You See What Was Beyond the Hills

Did You See What Was Beyond the Hills

A Poem by C.L. Wilson
"

I don't have a specific lesson for this poem. It's how ever you see it.

"

Did you see what was beyond the hills?

No? I did

And it wasn’t good

I saw the corpses of our neighbors

From over the hills

Nothing stood

The fields were burnt to crisps

The village a pit

The dead are piled

The enemy gathers at the other side of those hills

So what does it mean?

It means we're dead

Unless we do something

"It means were dead". I found a small error: it should be "we're" instead of "were".

I take this to mean that we need to take a stand if we don't want our world to end sooner, in more chaos.
I would prefer a little more detail, so that it would have caught my attention a bit more.

ohhh this is powerful..

brought to mind all sorts of apocalyptic visions, of movies i have seen and books i have read..

i love your sparse writing style - i feel it fits in nicely with my own, there is a sense of recognition there...
