Out Of The Dark

Out Of The Dark

A Poem by Kammy Myles

I am sitting ,

In a dark place,

Void of light and happyness,

Squished tightly and uncomferably,

Where the light does not reach,

By my lowly self,

Alone and afraid,

But I hear a noise,

And look up,

As a crack opens up,

In front of me,

And a hand appears,

Reaching for me,

Trying to save me,

From this wretched place,

I take the hand ,

Then whisked out,

Into the bright pure light,

With smiles and laughs,

Other people and joy,

I dust the darkness off,

Into a new skin,

Into a truly beautiful world,

Of friends and happyness,

All thanks to the hand that,

Pulled me out,

Of my dank, dark prison,

Into this world,
