poem about salvation

I once was lost in darkness                                   written by Norm Taublee

shackled to my sin               Jerry Poe   2009  (C)

The devil had his grip on me

no way that I could win

Saved by the blood of Jesus

I finally been baptized

No stumbling in the dark

for he’s opened up my eyes

I got up off my knees

been forgiving of my wrong

so now as I’m traveling

I sing my Victory song

My life was tumbling down

my eyes refused to see

Then I called on Jesus

and told him I believe

Now the life I’m living

Has a much brighter glow

I sing about salvation

Now that Jesus fills my soul

I got up off my knees

been forgiving of my wrong

so now as I’m traveling

I sing my Victory song

Now the angels have arrived

And I’m finally going home

Others will be singing

Where I’ll never be alone .

I got up off my knees

been forgiving of my wrong

so now as I’m traveling

I sing my Victory song
