THOUGHTS

A Poem by Rashmi

This poem, THOUGHTS, is about my love with my own thoughts and how I spend my time with them.

I choose a corner table
In a coffee house,
I have my pen and paper
And thoughts free and loud.
I see people coming, in two's.... three's
Even in four's,
And then I look at my table ....
Empty...... looking back at me for sure.
The chair across is vacant,
And I make my thoughts sit there
I chat with them and smile at them
and get started with a lovely affair.

I hear my voice telling me to be calm and contained,
But I still enjoy this togetherness without any care.
I sit there for an hour or so
Oblivious to all that's around.
And when I leave
My mind is free
And my tamed thoughts on that paper
my only company.
