The BirdA Story by Rasha LamaHemingway's Iceberg Theory applied to a long-distance relationship
"The bird", she said.
"What bird?", he said. "The bird on the wall", she said, "It fell". "Well it'll get up and fly". She looked up at the flock of birds in the foggy sky. "I don't think it wants to fly back". "Why?" "It's too foggy" "What's foggy?" She didn't answer. There was silence though the call. He cleared his throat. "It's fading" "But you aren't here, how do you know?" "Everything is bound to end soon enough" The flock seemed to wait around for the bird. A few started to fly into the fog. "I'm waiting" she said. "You're wasting time" he said. "But the flock-" "It's missing out, just let him go" "What should I do?" "I don't know" The phone beeped. She was running out of credit. She looked back at the flock. "Can we-" she stopped as she saw the bird flying off the ground. "I think I should go before you waste all our credit" "Hold on-" The phone beeped and ended the call. The flock was now through the foggy sky with the new addition. Whether the bird caught up or not, she wouldn't know. The fog replaced her vision of it all.
