Silence

Silence

A Poem by Karen Raquepo
"

just me and the gentle voice of silence

"
Silence is profound.
Rumors are on it.
Unspoken voice of silence, I hear from you.
Intense feeling, echoed and repeated!

In silence, I hold on
You touch my soul and I touch yours.
Unseen scene occurred by us.
And silence comes again.

Conquer me, I beg
I'll stay with you, be your woman
Rhymed silence, I do hear
Sssshhh silence, I don't blame!

Silence makes me aware of you.
I connive,wondering about us.
Does your system miss me,as I long for you?
Silence interrupt!

Oh, my dearest one.
I'm cared and loved, thank you.
Even in silence, I could sense you.
Silence, I grant everywhere!

I think you give an apt description of what silence can mean & the potential it holds for us to explore our own feelings & awareness of others. It's a beautifully romantic piece. Your personal style of writing adds to the feeling of mysterious and to the depth. Really nice poetry.

I'm not good at deciphering poems, so I could be wrong from the authors point of view, but it reminds me of passive love... Love that should just be, no matter what, no matter where, no matter how--and when it's not "In silence, I hold on" but when it is, "I'm cared and loved, thank you."

A good read, thank you.

Your poem gives silence, a soul and life which we can feel in the written word. A lover, who is always there, but nevers talks to us directly. Beautiful usage of imagery there. Thank you for sharing this poem with us.

I loved the way you made it out like you were fighting with yourself- or the silence around you. I to liked the line "conquer me, I beg" its so haunting in the way it's written.

I look forward to reading some of your other works too.

'Conquer me, I beg.'
I love the words.
I like the way your relationship finds intimate meanings for Silence; like a mirror in your palm turning in different directions under a ray of sunlight.
People speak about Love, and say, let me count the ways.
Well this is Silence, and you count the ways.
Lovely.

Silence is one of my favorite subjects to think and write about. I like the asynchronus rythm of this piece as it contributes to the overall imagery. If I were to hazard a guess I would think this piece a sort of silent plea to the ether for some release from loneliness. Often if we can express these things more fully through our art the result helps us heal, or at the very least helps us to feel a little less isolated. Thats when I usually find myself contemplating silence, for it is in silence we feel the least heard.

This is fine work. Silence is a big subject and you tackled it well. This work flows beautifully. Really well done.

Yumm!
I love your description.
For me, the thoughts and feelings that you evoke are a person, standing on the edge of an endless chasm. Yelling your feelings, your thoughts, waiting for the echo of voice to be brought back to you and yet it is only silence who listens. Silence who feeds your words. Silence that matches your tone. The imagery in this is great! I love the strength.
