Lost Requiem of FaithA Poem by RapterjAnd us victims who champion pride. Its one that we all wish we had One that we all wish we could erase
One that threatened even the gods Or at least, humbled them to this earthly place
Like stones before the statue Or like a chorus to the choir
Pieces, Segments, Fragments,
Parts of the whole.
Lightning falls from heaven, But pain falls in man
Death is but a reaper Of a living that is damned
We stand before the symphony Praising for the chorus
Erupting in our misery, Lashing at what's upon us.
So here we are Take nothing back
What we've stolen What we've earned What we've done.
Among us, Yes, Life comes and goes.
But within us, For those of us with pride, Take everything we own - But our fire never dies.
And in this requiem In this honor In this end
I'd give what I can To do the same for a friend. © 2010 Rapterj |
