Just a body

Just a body

A Poem by Raperle

You're staring at me, with a smile across the face

You're trying to open a conversation

Minutes later, you moved to the nearest place

In your eyes I witness hesitation

I expect you're thinking that I'm fine-looking

Or possibly you admire my style

But if that's what's going through your mind

Then you better think for a while

Because I am not just a body

There's so much deeper beyond

My thoughts could plug a valley

Dig deeper to reach my mind

A woman isn't only a pretty face

You can't judge upon what your eyes admire

In your heart you must have faith

That she deserves more than a hook up smile

So get closer to me, and don't get me wrong

I simply want you to look in my eyes

Get into the world to which dignity belong

Where there's no place for men lies

Here In my world only truth and respect rule

Love shaped by respect is so lovable

Respect my intelligence, and then you'll rule

Only then my heart will be available

Because I am not just a body

There's so much deeper beyond

My thoughts could plug a valley

Dig deeper to reach my mind

A woman isn't only a pretty face

You can't judge upon what your eyes admire

In your heart you must have faith

That she deserves more than a hook up smile

How many times did you get it all wrong?

And ignored a girl because of the way she looks like?

Now you feel that the cat ate your tongue

Because you know that what I'm saying is right

To tell the truthI really find you cute

But that's not enough, we're still strangers

So why don't we start by a small move

Let's not jump into the same old blunders
