![]() Take Me Home...A Poem by Ranjita Ghosh Dasgupta![]() About a young orphan girl who wishes to be adopted and have a family.![]() Sunday it is, a very special day for us. We get early and clean our mess ; and get dressed in our very best. We go to the the Church for our Sunday Mass, And pray : Oh ! Lord, Please change our stars. Make them favorable, make them shine ; Make us happy, Oh ! Mother Divine !! Every week on this day, our fates are tested. We shall properly behave, so that our luck is not wasted. From girl to boy, from young to old ; We are given equal training and opportunities as gold. God has not created differences of religion or sex ; It is only the Humans who practice and profess what suits them best. We all give our best and hope to be taken, But it is only the boys who are chosen. They will be loved, they will be pampered; They will know what family is, While we remain orphaned !! I cry for being a girl, though I know I am not at fault. The world does not realize that without us, they would halt. I have been hopeful to find a home since the last twelve years, I lament each time a Sunday expires. “I will be good, I will behave well; I will work hard if you want me to. I will love you all my life, But please, love me too...”
