Lose Myself

Lose Myself

A Poem by Rifatt Mir

Fighting a mindless battle
Chasing dreams and humans
I escaped the moon lit alleys
And fell into flames.

Years passed gathering ashes
Of ambition and memories
Must I dare to run again
Where would I go ?

Trail shadow of my shadows
Run endlessly in the storm-less maze
Or follow the dust
And fly with storms?

Do I have to go on with this battle
For the peace costlier than heart?
Why did I go as far to find me
when I can just lose myself?

We have a never-ending struggle to know peace.
"Do I have to go on with this battle
For the peace costlier than heart?
Why did I go as far to find me
when I can just lose myself?"
I have asked the same questions as the above lines, often. Thank you Rifatt for sharing your amazing poetry and your thoughts.

First stanza really draws the reader in. Wonderful imagery and poetic expression Rifatt Mir. We all have choices. Do we take the easier option or the more challenging, knowing it holds keys.

The word choice is really good. The images you wrote really stand out and make the poem feel more vivid.
