A Trade with the Night

This poem is based on my current emotional condition ...

Oh dear Night!

Come, come along with your

Eternal darkness,

And cover my eyes,

Bear away my hands,

My prayers.

Then bury them under my skin.

 

Oh holy darkness!

Come along with your wings,

And then take my soul away,

And burn it with care

And thus, chasten it-

To the core.

 

Oh mighty shadow of emptiness!

I invite you in my heart,

I offer you my memories-

And all the images too.

Hurry up!

Take all of them away from me

Where I no longer exist.

 

But, in exchange,

Oh mighty dark night!

I want nothing but your company

And a promise-

That you will envelop me

And won't leave me ...
