Skid Row

Skid Row

A Poem by Stephan E. Weller
"

I was listening to "I remember you" and thinking back to a simpler time and my love at the time.

"

At the beach listening to Skid Row

Not really caring where we go

Lost in your eyes

Under the moon lit night

Hold and caressing one another

Not worrying about anyone but each other

Dreaming of life together we would share

And a child we would care

Kissing and loving til dawn

Never noticing to night had slipped away and had gone

Into the day came our love

Under the warm beautiful sun

We were so lost into our hearts the world had fallen away

And the waters and sand were ours for the day

Not knowing where I ended and you began

We made love upon the sand

We expressed our undying love in front of god and the gulls

Our hearts beating and over full

Oh how I miss those days and nights because we were beautiful

But the years have come and gone

Oh but the memories of that one night and song

Brings those memories back and clear

Of holding on so dear

Now it has been decades and then some

You’re some where else and call it home

Our daughter is grown and going to college

Hoping she does well for that extra edge

I have loved you for years

And through the painful tears

I still remember when we were happy and in love

And no other in our life was above

To a song I hope you still know

" I Remember You" from Skid Row
