winter break

winter break

A Poem by Audrey Bowers
"

describes me perfectly right now.

"
at home
I'm all alone with nothing
but a ton of nothing to do.

its cold,
I've got a runny nose
and sadly I've got chapped lips too.

clock strikes noon
I guess I'll eat maybe some crackers
and some soup.

I hate this winter break
because I'm feeling all alone
without you.

I'm 5000 miles from home on a ship in the middle of the North Sea with 80 other people and I might as well be in Siberia on a vast ice field with noone...and you know what, I'll be ok because I have myself to get me through it

Peace

Simple but nicely said. Makes the reader curious to know more, perhaps discuss it a little further? The simplicity is a great asset however, I love the line, 'I'm all alone with nothing but a ton of nothing to do.' Very poetic. Nicely done :)
