Little Naive Girl

Little Naive Girl

A Poem by Audrey Bowers

it's funny how I trusted you
like a little naive girl
who was vulnerable and in terrible danger of the cruel world
you took me by the hand
and told me that no one else would understand
you gave me false hope and security
I'd thought I'd always be yours
and that it was meant to be
Those words haven't yet left me
and you'll always be a reminder of that
little naive girl that I used to be.

Not something you could put a bandage on...there is a cure..find someone with a kind heart. Maybe it won't be a romance...but sometimes just words and smiles from a kind heart can free you from the pain.
Enjoyed your vulnerability.

These jaded moments happen throughout our entire lives. Some make us stronger, some leave us weakened, and some leave us scarred deeper than the flesh. Luckily, I think the good outweighs the bad giving us the power to overcome them all.
