Define Love

Define Love

A Poem by Audrey Bowers

Leave me alone.
That's all I want.
Don't try to say that you were helping,
because you were certainly not.

Break me into a million pieces
that's all you seem to do.
I swear a thousand years of solitude
would be better than a thousand with you!

You say you love me
I tell you to define love
You say it's a feeling, an emotion,
and it's something from the heart.

My eyes roll automatically
as if you were to care
if love is an emotion,
it's definitely not there.

and if it's a feeling,
I'm sincerely sorry my dear,
but feelings change and I'm
doing much better without you here.

wow, I'm sensing anger and also hurt. you certainly do not need someone who brings you down and who continually hurts you in your life. this piece was really powerful . keep it up :)
