Awakening

Awakening

A Poem by Dirge Graves

Trapped in vines

Beneath the trees

She lies alone

In gentle breeze

As time flows on

She lies alone

But never dies

Her age unknown

Gone to the world

Remembered not

Touched only

By sun rays caught

Awaits her prince

In dulled armor

To come save her

From deaths black door

As the wood sings

Of her despair

With words unheard

Sad and unfair

Her prince arrives

With nights black cloak

Cutting her vines

He gently spoke

“Awake my love

From your deep sleep

To new world

With love so deep

Deeper than sea

In the ocean blue

This endless love

I give to you

Rise with the sun

Set with the moon

Everything’s yours

To have so soon

I came to you

As a dark knight

Under the grin

Of pale moonlight

To save you from

Eternal sleep

But now I’m here

With love so deep

So drown your fears

In endless love

To share with you

Angel above

And ride with me

Into the darkness

To hide from eyes

Wishing sadness
