A.R.P.A Poem by Ramsey
Physically,
you aren't here. Mentally, you never leave. i am safer with you around even though you're only in my mind. i write your name on my wrist the black ink staining my skin it's my protection, my barrier from the horrid world. My safety, my wall, from anything that will hurt me. i trace your name with my finger relaxing as i picture your face. you're a part of me, even as just a mark on my wrist. am i a part of you too? as a little sharpie tattoo? your name is my comfort your gaze my fire your touch my passion your words my heart. do you feel the same way? even when im not around? do you daydream of me? worry about me? am i stained in your skin like a glorious sharpie tattoo? You run through my mind Like it's a treadmill The thought of you keeps me sane Keeps me going Through the day And into the night
When the sun sets And the moon rises That’s our time That’s when I get you The stress of the day Melts away And you're there Waiting for me. When the world is sleeping, We're awake Because we have each other And nothing can break us Nothing can take you away from me
Your name on my skin Is a reminder you're here You're part of me now I can't wash you away With a bit of soap I can't erase you Or delete you from my heart I can't forget you Even if I tried © 2017 RamseyAuthor's Note
