Winter Whines

Winter Whines

A Poem by Freeland Hypnotist
"

There are these powerful emotions that capture me at times. It takes me into this vortex of thought. These emotions often emerge as decent works of writing, even if its just a storm in a teacup

"

The summer has passed
Faraway it almost seems
The cold winter whines
Whipping my bones into a crease
The greys of rain
Consuming the sky
And all I can cherish
Is the smell of soil
All but with a sigh

I run for cover

Deep inside

Regrets flow out

Fraying away in the grey

Tears and rain make their way

Maligning the mushy marl

How I wish that

The warm summer sun would cast

With all the might and strength

Wishing that some warm ray of light

Would inspire some hope & cheer

Lasting me the rest of my days

Before I say goodbye, goodbye at last!

The greys of rain

Still consume the sky

And all I can cherish

Is the smell of soil

All but with a deep and heavy sigh

Love this poem, the change in seasons, sometimes reflect our own change in thoughts and feelings.
Nicely written, and thanks for reminding me of the sweet earthy smell after a down pour.

I like the dramatic formatting, it works well with this poem but the structure of the sentences forces you to read each line individually with a pause between each line for a slow delivery. This method is great from live reading as it reinforces the dramatic feel. The poem shows you have a good grasp of the language for someone from India, well done :~)
