Lost winter

Lost winter

A Poem by Rakhsharimaya
"

Miss the childhood winter days, spent in out big house with cousins, aunts and emotions over loaded.

"
I feel a faint winter chill in the air
The sun has started cooling down
A little bit of cold wind blows late night
The lonely evenings set in earlier than Autumn days.

Long gone those years, aunts sitting with wool
White and red caps both for me and my doll
The flaring top ball on my cap
Everyone pulling as I pass by.

Flannel shirts and flannel pants
Same floral prints for me and my brother
Standing under the big tree
Taking pictures to make winter remember.

Jaggery, molasses and rice powders
Preparation for winter celebrations
Birthday, New years and reasons many more
Grandma, Maa and aunts busy with household chore.

Winter clothes and warmers out from the trunk
Comforters spread up in the roof
For some sunlight to kill the mite
Sporadic chilly air crossing as winter proof.

Winter now lost the glory
No chill and no story
Waiting for a chilly winter morning
Too long it has been yearning.
