Merry-Go-Round

Merry-Go-Round

A Poem by Raj Sahu
"

This is a poem based on old childish memories with carousel.

"
I recalled today the days that passed,
Hid in the dark works of today.
The hard toils of the busy life always
take my childhood far away.
Altogether, the coarse works made;
my entire schedule a rough essay.

The days I spent in my favourite past,
the rides of my lovely Merry-Go-Round;
reminds me of all that childish memories
and clatters and clap and sound.
But today in midst of busy life,
Never ever; my lovely childhood I found.

My lovely carousel, made my childhood lovely,
The sweet fragrant memories smear everywhere.
The friends of mine on that Merry-Go-Round
were unique and hard to find anywhere.
I still miss my amiable childhood,
I think it is lost somewhere.

Childhood is the best part of anyone's life. One is just lackadaisical for an adult's work and just endorsed in his playful activities. Merry-Go-Round was my favourite ride in childhood and still my heart wants to take its ride. Thank you for sharing.

I was reminded somewhat of the lyrics to Father Ted and Dougall's 'My Lovely Horse' - google it.
I loved the carousel - a hand cranked one came round our streets - the old man who operated it had trained his little dog to bark at those who hadnt paid but were taking a 'free ride' - taking the piss?

Never fear---
For on the other side of that carousel,
Your friends are waiting---
Waiting for you to be there.

Thank you so much.
You were able to arouse nostalgic feelings among the readers. Most people do relate to this, I do too. Missing our childhood. Best we cherish the beautiful memories we made during our childhood and let them not leave us...never. Well written. Thanks for sharing!
