Acrostic Fiesta

Acrostic Fiesta

A Poem by Raj Sahu
"

This is a poem regarding to the holiday Cinco de Mayo. See the underlined letters in poem, they are making the word FIESTA.

"
First we gather here for a holiday,
Hinterland this place is located.
Caecilian I can see you today,
Retsina; we will drink salivated.
Flattery are all these, I say
Fiesta word is terminated.

I enjoy seeing you play with various poetic forms such as acrostic, which I rarely see from poets on this website. You might know that some of us are expecting the highlighted word (fiesta) to be spelled out with only the first letters of each line. But your altered interpretation is also clear & interesting. Even tho I like your message, I also have to mention that fiesta and cinco de mayo is usually associated with food & drink & colorful piñatas, etc. Lines such as "gathered here for a holiday" and "this place is located" convey almost NO sensory delights. I encourage you to use more sights & sounds & tastes & smells & colors & textures & actions in your poetry.

Thanks a lot dear. 😊😊
Very clever. Not much of a poet myself so I don't try to review them. I stick with what I know. But still, it looks like a bit of fun and maybe I will try to write one one day.

Nice use of the word Fiesta and I liked the set-up of the poem leading to honest end. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
