Neko Desu! Part 1

The gang turns detective!

It was a bright sunny day and Chie was unusually happy. Maybe because of the fact that they were excused from yesterday's punishment. The credit obviously went to Soura without a doubt.

In a serious flashback; Chie recalls the series of events which took place after they were punished.

Soura, Yogita, Chie, Setsuko and Rina were called by their professor in the staff-room. There he was sitting on his chair, staring at what probably could be 'The Worst Painting Of The Decade'!

He turned towards them, "Do I look like this?", he asked calmly supressing his anger which was evident from his face.

They hung their heads in shame and regret. While the others were serious, Yogita was pretending to be ashamed. But her performance was flawless!

"Please sir, try to understand I have no such involvement in this act! Infact it was me who exposed them!", Soura was desperate to be sidelined by this Picasso-act.

While it took just a sympathetic stare from Yogita to melt his heart.

"Okay. Fine girls, I am excusing you for the first and the last time. But what is the gaurantee that you wont be happening again?" he questioned.

"I gaurantee it sir! These girls are my responsibilty and I'll take full care that they don't break the rules again!", Soura said assuring him of no further irresponsible action from the girls and herself. It was on Soura's insistence that he decided to let the girls go.

"Sir, can we have our painting back?" asked Rina while they were about to leave the room.

"Well, the answer is NO! I think I'm going to have it for my self as a rememberance", he said.

"Thank you very much sir. And sorry for disturbing you. Excuse us", came a unanimous reply and they left.

Just as Chie's flashback came to an end she saw someone searching some thing behind the bushes of the school garden. She, as curious as ever, went up to him to ask what was going on?

The boy was Kurai Hitotsume and he was a filthy-rich guy! His father owned chains of hotels. He could have got admission in many prestigious schools but he chose Oriental Jr. High. He is usually very quiet but a kind hearted person whose only obsession is cats!

"What happened? Chiki. Did you lose something?", she inquired.

"Yes", he said still searching for it, "I lost my Diamond!"

"What? You lost your diamond! Why did you bring it in to school in the first palce? Chiki", she said adding her charactersitic 'chiki' after her sentence.

Rina was waiting for Chie outside the class-room door.

Chie came looking all excited and that caught Rina's attention.

"Chie, what is the matter? Did something interesting happen?", she questioned her.

"You won't believe what news I have for you guys. Let us go in, I don't anybody to lay their ears on this gossip.", Chie dragged her in. They crashed right into Soura while they were running to their seats.

"What's with the commotion people?", they did not stop and Soura followed them to give them a piece of her mind, "Wait I need to talk to you girls. You are not supposed to be running around in the class"

Chie could not stop sporting that big smile of hers as she announced what she heard from Kurai.

"Really now? What a weirdo!", Setsuko was at her casual best, one could never expect such senetences from her. She would always be very formal.

"Are you serious? He really managed to lose a diamond?", Yogita was all starry-eyed,"look girls he is so sad. I think we should help his find his diamond."

"What is your real intention Yogita?" Setsuko knew she would never help any body without a reason.

She turned to them to explain her real reason behind the favour. The girls listened with concentration.

It was break time! Kurai was still sitting in the class. He was deeply saddened with Diamond's disappearence.

"Maybe, we can help you find your diamond.", Yogita offered help.

He looked at the girls, "Really? But how will you find Diamond?"

"Leave that to us. First you tell us what are you willing to give in return for our services?" Rina promptly replied.

"Girls, I'll give you whatever you desire but please find my Diamond!", he begged.

"Okay, Girls at work right away!", Yogita ordered and all of them set out at once.

They were in the school's garden.

"Here is the last time I saw my precious Diamond." Kurai said pointing to the bushes.

"Explain it to me please. Why am I helping you girls?", Soura asked irritated.

"Because you are our friend!" said Rina.

"Well, that reason is not enough. I always end up helping you people in the end!", Soura was definately not going to accept the fact that they are her friends.

"Soura, you are intelligent and have good detective skills. And even you are greedy for the reward like the rest of us. I think these reasons are enough. Do you want more?" Setsuko would always be Setsuko!

There is no time for rest, announced Yogita and the investigation began from the very obvious question, "Do you think somebody stole your diamond?"

"Yes!", that was a shocking revelation, "I think Kenny or Miracle stole my Diamond!"

Kenny was the inventor-guy who used to see every body as his subjects for the experiment. Kazue was nicknamed 'Miracle' because that was the only word in English he knew properly.

Now that the suspects were short-listed; it was investigation time!
