Time traveller

Time!

An odyssey of infinity

Horizon of deception

Credulous yet decrepitly frivolous

A quest; a conquest

Great earthly conquerors through

Unicorn or sphinx could not transcend.

 

Time!

An ounce of it

Science, religion or historians

Can ever lend.

Drops of it trickles

Between dawn and dusk’s

Never ending crevasse.

 

A Time less traveller

With obdurate, novice desire

Ostracized from worldly yearning

Set in:  conquest of,

A treacherous loamy path

An archaic crusade.

 

Only to pilfer

A Solitary drop of

Forever lost love.

Banished into rotisserie

By insane rubble of words!

A decadent act of pique.

 

Seeking clemency in the arms

Of melancholic chorus, infirm

Obelisk piercing the tendrils of his heart,

Buried in the graves of Time!!!!!!

Death could not erase his untenable agony

His soul rode on Sphinx and Unicorn

 

Across the worlds to epitomize

His plundered love in the

Lost grains of time........

Absolutley terrific. From the marvelous manipulation of language to the hour glass shape of the poem itself. The language of wonderfully complex and playful and broaches a multitude of subjects and ideas. A marvellous poem that questions the nature of time and its progression. Brilliant work.
