The Cost of Misused Power

The Cost of Misused Power

A Poem by Mohammad Rajaul Islam
"

In "The Cost of Misused Power" the poem explores the consequences when a wealthy and powerful man supports attackers instead of victims.

"
When wealth and power take a twisted turn,
And justice bows to flames that burn,
A tale unfolds where shadows reign,
And cries for help are met with disdain.

In gilded halls where riches gleam,
A powerful man pursues a dark dream.
He lends his might to those who harm,
Ignoring pleas, he fails to disarm.

The victims' voices, faint and frail,
Are drowned by wealth's unyielding gale.
In streets once safe, fear takes root,
For justice now wears a tarnished suit.

The attackers grow in bold delight,
Shielded by gold's blinding light.
Their cruelty festers, unchecked, untamed,
Innocence shattered, but none are blamed.

Communities fracture, trust decays,
As darkness thrives in power's rays.
The cries of sorrow fill the night,
While hope is strangled, losing its light.

Yet, whispers rise from hearts oppressed,
A call for change, for truth expressed.
The wealthy man, though strong and grand,
Cannot silence justice’s stand.

For in the end, truth finds its way,
Through darkest night, to break the day.
And those who support the hand of pain,
Will face the storm, and feel the rain.

The victims' strength, though worn and scarred,
Will shine as bright as heaven’s guard.
For power misused may rule a while,
But justice prevails, with a righteous smile.
