IN YOUR EYES I SEE A WORLD THAT HAS CHANGED,

I AM STILL THERE IT’S JUST LOVE HAS CHANGED,

EVERY MORNING WE KISS EACH OTHER GOOD BYE,

YOU STILL ASK ME WHAT’S IN BREAKFAST, I SIMPLY SMILE,

AFTER ALL EVERYTHING IS OF YOUR CHOICE.

OUR IMAGES IN MIRROR ARE NO MORE CLOSE,

YES, WE ARE THERE, BUT OUR FACES SAY SOMETHING MORE,

YOUR CLOTHS ARE STILL OF MY CHOICE,

IT’S JUST YOUR PERFUME HAS CHANGED, IT’S OF SOMEONE ELSE CHOICE.

YOUR LONG DAYS DON’T TROUBLE ME ANYMORE,

I KNOW YOU HAVE SOMEONE WHO CAN CARE YOU MORE,

MY TIME IS NO MORE YOURS, 

AS I STOPPED WAITING FOR YOU ON THE DOOR,

EVENINGS DO LOOK BIT TIRED, MAYBE IT’S THE BURDEN OF OUR MEMORIES,

THINGS OF PAST KEEP ON KNOCKING ON MY SHORE.

IN THE KITCHEN EVERYTHING IS THERE,

THE KISSES WE MISSED, THE LOVE WE MADE,

SOMETIMES I SMILE, SOMETIMES I FEEL WORRIED,

CERTAINLY NIGHT HAS COME AND I KNOW TOGETHER WE BOTH GOING TO BE ALONE AGAIN,

MIND WANTS TO SAY A LOT, 

WORDS BELIEVE ITS BETTER TO SAY NOTHING AT ALL.

IN THE BED WE ARE CLOSE,

 YOU WANT TO MAKE LOVE, I WANT THE SAME,

YOU START WITH A KISS, I REPLY THE SAME, 

AS THINGS BEGIN TO MOVE, TEARS TAKE THEIR PLACE,

WE BOTH KNOW WHAT’S WITHIN, 

MAYBE IT’S THE TIME TO FIND A NEW WAY TO LOVE AGAIN.

Its the trail of familiarity that haunts us. Its hard to see those subtle and not so subtle things that were a life in a different context. And you always wonder if the other feels the same. As for the last line, sometimes a path better left untended....but, who knows because its the little things that we miss. Great piece!!!

This is an extraordinary word painting of how two people can be living together, going thru the motions, yet there's an emptiness between them. We all know this inevitable feeling between two people & you've drawn it out in such a way, it feels even more sad & estranged than ever before. You have a way of combining a phrase of wistful loving along with a phrase of routine tolerating each other, side by side . . . & your message ends up having this intense bittersweet quality that almost stings with truthfulness (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I missed thanking you for such wonderful feedback, just started painting again, so bit busy with it. Love is strange, even if we hate someone, we still find it hard to tell them. On the other way loneliness is there yet we pretend its all ok. Thanks fr making me realize good things about my work. :)
