You and I

 

In the moving clouds, I see a picture of you and me,

Pictures of the stories, stories of our love that I always live,

In some you are running after me, trying to grab me on a wet seashore,

In others, you are playing with my hair,

Blowing kisses on me, like I am something you always wanna hold.

 

I know it all sounds weird,

But you are just like that dream that I always see,

Sometimes I make a house for us in the sand,

Making a space where there is no one but us,

I paint our pictures,

Coloring them with the moments of our love,

When you go out, I wait on the door,

I know I look stupid, but that’s the only way I can look at you for long.

 

Your presence is something I always feel,

Sometimes in my own shadow,

Sometimes in that tiny soul, that’s breathing inside me,

In the mirror, I always see you standing around me,

Taking my breath away with your slow kisses,

Every time you touch my shoulder,

You make me feel like a woman who has lost her all in love,

At the end of the day when you come back to me, I see my sunrise again,

I know the world waits for its moon,

But I, I only wait for you, the one I love.

 

Slowly, slowly we both will get old,

There will be wrinkles on my face, so on yours,

With those old feet, our walks in the sand will be slow, people will laugh,

But even in that age, I know your eyes will still make me feel beautiful like all,

Old skins can’t feel the touch; I will still hold your cold hands to feel your warmth,

In the nights when stars will sleep, I know you will still sing me our song,

Our song, lyrics of which, only our hearts know.

 

Then one day when I will leave this world, I hope you will still live for me,

Live for our moments, live for these clouds,

Don’t worry I will surely come back, to say you hi, but only when I feel like it,

I know you will get angry on me, but even after my death I will still be your life,

Through the rains, I will make love to you,

I know it will be too much for you; after all, you will be old,

But I am in love with you, and seeing you wet will only make me feel I am all yours.

 

All this, all this is just a story,

Sometimes I am able to say it; sometimes I have to keep it with me,

I love you a lot, but you are far away, so just take it as a letter,

A letter shared between your heart and me,

A letter which I know will never get its reply,

Even if you are busy; someday do sit with me for some time,

I will read this letter, and will open my heart,

To tell you what all I have, and how much love I have, how much love I have.
