lethargy

lethargy

A Poem by Raíssa Leão

but what hurts the most is fear itself
it is the sound of your bones cracking
the predictability of pain
what frightens you the most is not the thief
but rather the alarm, your screaming brother
and what makes you stay is not the certainty of weariness
but the uncertainty of victory
the smell of rain, the umbrellas outside
the warmth before pain, the groundbreaking line
what hurts the most is not the act of living in the future
it's not what you fear that makes you scared
it is the place where it leaves you
"you're not going anywhere"
