what i can't say

what i can't say

A Chapter by hannah

there's a little girl,
who sits alone on the park bench
watching as the willow trees sway
it's just another day

and there's a little boy,
who watches from behind
pretends not to see her cry,
sometimes it's better to hide

but what he's really feeling inside
are words he can't bring himself to say
he's too innocent, too afraid
but what he's really feeling inside,
is music to her ears,
too bad she'll never hear him say

i can't stand to see you sitting there all alone
i can't stand to see you crying when no one watches
i can't stand to see you hurting,
and i would do anything to just see you smile again
i like you, i love you, i want to be your friend
and i'll stick with you until the end

she sees right past him
he's just another kid,
she doesn't know what she's missing
because he got too scared and hid

he sees only her
she's his one and only,
he doesn't know what he's missing
when he pretends not to care and lies

but what he's really feeling inside
are words he can't bring himself to say
he's too innocent, too afraid
but what he's really feeling inside,
is music to her ears,
too bad she'll never hear him say

i can't stand to see you sitting there all alone
i can't stand to see you crying when no one watches
i can't stand to see you hurting,
and i would do anything to just see you smile again
i like you, i love you, i want to be your friend
and i'll stick with you until the end

there's a girl who sits
alone on a park bench.
